  7.     Some vacation! Pat Sajak leaves for Europe and quicker than
  8. you can say "Heeere's Johnny" or "It's Arseniooo Haaall," his
  9. talk show is canceled. A CBS executive flew over last week to
  10. give him the news. Trampled in the ratings by master of the
  11. night Carson and the popular upstart Hall, Sajak tried hard to
  12. save his program. A new set was installed, and the affable host
  13. donned bulky test-pattern sweaters. Ironically, Sajak, who'll
  14. still turn up on Wheel of Fortune, once announced that he'd
  15. "been fortunate" never to have lost a job.
